The Annual “Plant of the Year Tour” Dinner Meeting and BBQ will be held on August 10th at 1630 at Scotts Valley Treatment Plant.

AWARDS
The nomination’s for this year’s awards are due to be sent to Daryl Lauer by October 15th and this year I would appreciate it if there were more nominees for the various awards, and if anyone needs help in writing and filling out the forms please contact me.
UPCOMING TRAINING EVENTS
The Monterey Bay Section and the local AWWA section are teaming together to provide a training day and small vendor show on Thursday, July, 22nd,2010 in Watsonville at the new Watsonville Water Reclamation Plant. The training event would be from 12:30 p.m. to roughly 4:30 p.m. followed by the vendor show and BBQ. Cost will be $25.00.
Electrical Controls/PLC’s by Bruce Borders of Control Systems West. The training will be held on October 14th. At Seascape Golf Club RSVP: by September 21st to mbsectpres@aol.com. Class size will be limited to 35 people.

STATE COLLECTION SYSTEMS
The annual state Collection System meeting will be once again be held at Moro Bay on July 16th and 17th ,it should be as good as it was last year. I will be attending with my Vice President Rachel Lather as your representatives. There will be a class on SSO
GOLF TOURNAMENT
The 6th annual Golf Tournament will be held at the Salinas Golf and Country Club. The tournament will be held on August 21st . There will be a “Shot gun start,” “longest drive,” and “closest to the pin.” Food will consist of hamburgers/ cheese burgers foot long hot dog, salad both green and potato, pasta dish, chips, and cookies after the completion yet to be decided are awards and prizes for the victors.
Once again I would like to ask all members to please start putting the word out that “we need sponsors” for the tournament to be a success. I made up flyers for those that wish to compete and for Vendor donations of $100.00 a hole.
We have had other Sections that are interested in playing and attending. Cost for each player will be $65.00

NOMINATIONS FOR OFFICERS.
Nominations for MBS Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Directors) will be called for during the plant Tour, BBQ and dinner meeting. Nominations can be emailed to me at mbsectpres@aol.com prior to the October 14th Training and Dinner meeting where they will be voted on and or accepted if there are less than two nominations per office.
